These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of RIPLanka.info (the "Platform"). By creating an account, creating a memorial, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on RIPLanka.info. By using the Platform, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

3. Memorial Content & Ownership

When you create a memorial, you retain ownership of the content you upload (photos, text, tributes). By submitting content, you grant RIPLanka.info a licence to host, display, and distribute that content as part of the memorial page, for as long as the memorial remains active on the Platform.

You confirm that you have the right to share any photos, names, dates, or other personal information you upload, and that doing so does not infringe the rights of any third party.

4. Acceptable Use

When using RIPLanka.info, you agree not to:

Upload false, misleading, defamatory, or offensive content
Create memorials for living persons with intent to deceive, or as a prank
Upload content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
Use the Platform to harass, abuse, or harm any individual or group
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or memorials
Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or republish content from the Platform without permission

We reserve the right to remove any content or memorial that violates these Terms, without prior notice.

5. Offerings, Album Upgrades & Payments

Certain features — such as paid offerings (bouquets, oil lamps), additional album storage, and other premium features — require payment, processed securely through PayHere. All prices are displayed in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) unless otherwise stated.

Free offerings (such as flowers) remain active for a limited period (e.g. 30 days) as displayed at the time of offering. Paid offerings remain active for the duration selected at checkout. Once an offering's duration ends, it is moved to the memorial's "Past Offerings" section.

Payments are generally non-refundable once processed, except where required by law or where the service was not delivered due to a fault on our part. For payment disputes, please contact us promptly.

6. Death Certificate Verification

Memorial owners may optionally submit a death certificate for verification. Submitted documents are reviewed by our team solely for the purpose of verifying the memorial and are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Verification status is shown on the memorial page but does not constitute a legal certification by RIPLanka.info.

7. Privacy Settings

Memorial owners are responsible for choosing appropriate privacy settings (public or access-key protected) for each memorial. RIPLanka.info is not responsible for content shared by the memorial owner with third parties via access links.

8. Intellectual Property

The RIPLanka.info name, logo, design templates, symbols, and platform code are the property of RIPLanka.info and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without written permission. This does not affect your ownership of personal content (photos, tributes) that you upload.

9. Disclaimers

RIPLanka.info is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Memorial content is provided by users, and RIPLanka.info does not verify the accuracy of all information submitted unless explicitly stated (e.g. death certificate verification).

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RIPLanka.info shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including loss of data, loss of access to a memorial, or emotional distress arising from user-submitted content.

11. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account or remove content that violates these Terms, applicable law, or that we reasonably believe is harmful to the Platform or its users. You may also delete your account and associated memorials at any time, subject to our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising from your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
